Lanner
1. LANNER
Planning Officer Kevin Mosley said that he supported the submission for an outline proposal to build 4 dwellings in the back garden of a bungalow in Lanner. He said that it was brownfield site that accorded with government policies and there was no reason why the development could not be undertaken.
Despite this, common sense seems to have prevailed and Lanner Parish Council has listened to a large number of local residents who spoke against the development, and opposed the proposal.
Cornwall Council planning committee seem to be in agreement and have voted against the proposal and committee members will be asked to ratify the decision at their next meeting
We note that the Council Cabinet Member and portfolio holder for housing also lives in this area but we would not suggest that this has in any way influenced the decision to refuse the planning application.
