History
The Committee formed to administer the TRELAWNEY ALLIANCE effective as from 1st January 2010 is:
CHAIR: Councillor Jean Charman
TREASURER: Councillor Terry Wilkins MBE
WEBSITE: Councillor Roger Benney
COMMUNICATIONS: Mr Derek Elliott
SECRETARY: Mrs Gaynor Hingston
MEMBER: Councillor Stuart Odgers
The committee meet on a fortnightly basis. The committee members have been involved in investigating mass build plans in Cornwall since 2008 and formed as a committee early in 2009. We will continue investigating plans, researching official statements and raising public awareness on what we consider to be a threat to the quality of life for the present residents of Cornwall.
Like many Cornish residents we are concerned at what we consider to be an increase of unsustainable building projects which will destroy our rural communities, our heritage, our way of life, and Cornwall as we know it.
We feel that there seems to be ineffective opposition to the Government plans as outlined by the Regional Spatial Strategy and it is down to us, the residents of Cornwall, to get the Government to listen to our concerns and get a more sensible planning strategy back into the hands of our locally elected representatives.
In short, let’s have some democracy
